Floyd Mayweather Jr. found himself is embroiled in another controversy as he reportedly became a witness to a crime.

According to celebrity website TMZ, “Money Mayweather” was communicating on FaceTime with his best friend, rapper Earl Hayes, when the musician pulled out a gun, shot his wife and then himself.

Hayes’ wife is Stephanie Moseley, a dancer who worked with Chris Brown and Britney Spears. She was also a regular in VH1’s “Hit the Floor.”

Hayes, one of Mayweather’s rappers on his label Philthy Rich Records, accused Moseley of cheating on him with another performer, Trey Songz.

“According to our Floyd sources, Earl said he was going to kill his wife. The champ was pleading with him to get a grip ... to no avail. Floyd will not say how much he saw, but he acknowledges he was a witness and heard everything,” reported TMZ.

"Floyd is in shock and is having extreme difficulty dealing with the fact that he witnessed a horrifying murder/suicide."

Antonio Tarver, age 46, will face Johnathon Banks this Thursday night in a heavyweight

bout. Tarver has not fought in over a year.

"I'm not concerned with rust," says Tarver. "If I'm rusty, it will only be until I'm hit. I've been trying to wear off ring rust with intelligent sparring but that's not like getting reps of a fight."

Tarver still believes he can make waves in the heavyweight division, where he is 2-0 albeit against no hopers like Nagy Aguilera and Mike Sheppard.

"I have to beat a solid heavyweight with power like Banks to get where I want to be. I will become the oldest world heavyweight champion in boxing history! He will be surprised by a lot of what I bring into the ring."

"I can honestly say Antonio hasn't looked rusty," Tarver's trainer Orlando Cuellar said. "but working in the gym and actual fighting are two different things, and we really won't really know until this week's fight. Antonio has always told me that he's not a good gym fighter but that once the bell rings for the first round, he's a great fighter."

"With our experience, his as a fighter and me as a trainer, I expect nothing less than the best from Antonio. It'll be much easier for both of us, training-wise, for his next fight."

Banks has only dabbled in boxing since taking over as Klitschko's trainer and hasn't fought since June of 2013 when he was decisioned by Seth Mitchell.

"Every fight is independent in itself," Tarver says about the fight. "So I can't say I've fought anybody like Banks. I have fought a lot of guys with power who know how to box. Everybody has two hands and two feet but he can only use one hand at a time. I simplify things. I will be in my best shape and I won't be surprised by whatever he brings into the ring."

World super-middleweight title claimant Carl Froch has told the Telegraph it is "60/40 against" whether he will step in the ring again.

Froch was last seen in the ring last may when he stopped bitter rival George Groves for a second consecutive time to defend his WBA and IBF belts at Wembley Stadium, and wants a farewell fight in Las Vegas.

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed he is in talks over a possible Vegas bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, but Froch says he will call it quits should the bout not take place- leaving mandatory challenger James Degale of fighting the 'Cobra' for the IBF title in limbo.

"It's 60-40 against that I'll fight again," Froch told the newspaper. "I want the fight in Vegas. It's not that it has to be against Chavez, it could be against someone who takes me to Vegas - but I want one night in the fight capital of the world. My heroes all fought there and it's the box I've never ticked.

"The Vegas dream is there, but if it doesn't happen, I'll probably retire. Right now, it's 60/40 that I will retire. Fighters do it all the time. They fight on too long. What's going to get me out of bed in the morning? What's going to motivate me? What's going to make me say, right, let's do this one more time?

"Financially I'm secure. By May I'll have been out a year - and the longer it goes, the less likely I'll ever fight again."

Should Froch decide to call time on his career, ending with a spectacular knockout of Groves will please the 37-year-old.

"I stopped him in the first fight, and the second fight was so easy. One of my easiest fights. It was the biggest payday of my life," Froch said.

"The biggest recognition and on the biggest platform. I came out and didn't have a mark on my face. It was like I'd never had a fight.

"If I do decide to hang my gloves up and never fight again, after finishing in that manner at Wembley, I am so happy. I can smile for the rest of my days."

Jermain Taylor has pled not guilty today in Little Rock on charges that he shot his cousin.

The 36-year-old fighter is facing charges of first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening from the August 26 incident.  Jermain Taylor can be heard on the 911 call made that day, telling police, "Better come get him before I kill him."

Taylor remained silent during his brief hearing -- his lawyer did all the talking -- and a June 23 trial date was set. According to local reports, the date was picked because Taylor will be training in March and April for a fight.

A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for May 29.

Oscar De La Hoya believes in Amir Khan.

I’m pushing for a Pacquiao fight,” De La Hoya said prior to Khan's upcoming bout with Devon Alexander next weekend. “And I’m also pushing for a Mayweather fight.”

De La Hoya stated that Khan “is a perfect example” of why welterweight has long been boxing’s glamour division. “He is a devastating puncher, has tremendous speed and he knows how to use it. He pleases the fans. He’s exciting. People want to watch him fight.

“Amir Khan is just beginning, he has a lot of fight left in him. He’s still learning and he’s still growing; he’s getting stronger and he’s getting faster. He’s more motivated than ever. If he keeps winning, if he keeps on getting into these big fights that are promised, I really do feel that Amir Khan can be one of the top fighters of all time. But first things first: Devon Alexander is a tough, tough opponent.”

This will be Khan's first bout at the MGM Grand.

De La Hoya was not on scene very much for Mayweather's rematch with Marcos Maidana prompting rumors that his company's influence with "Money" has declined.

“We’re always happy to be working with and promoting Mayweather. We’ve done it for the last 10 fights. But, look, Amir Khan has been having eliminator after eliminator. The time for him is now. He deserves to be fighting Floyd Mayweather. He deserves to be fighting Manny Pacquiao.”

Negotiations would go smoother for a Pacquiao-Khan battle. The two are former gym mates. Kell Brook is another option for Khan, seemingly recovered from a knife attack that took place three months ago.

“I can see that type of fight happening at Wembley Stadium, for instance, in front of a hundred thousand people,” De La Hoya said. “That would possibly be plan B.

“It really rubs me the wrong way that Amir has been promised fighting the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao and it hasn’t happened yet. He is at the perfect moment of his career. And one thing is for sure: 2015 is going to be his year. He is a force to be reckoned with, a threat to everyone in the welterweight division. I’ve always said if you put him up to the test, if you put him up against a Floyd Mayweather, a Manny Pacquiao, don’t be surprised if he wins.”

In regards to a Mayweather and Pacquiao fight, De La Hoya said “I’ll believe it when I see it, I’ve heard it for about five years. It’s very complicated. First of all, you have one fighter [Pacquiao] with HBO and the other with Showtime. You have sponsors. But most importantly, you have egos and egos can get in the way of making big fights happen.”

Jean Pascal's fight against late replacement Roberto Bolonti ended in a no contest.

The two were not originally scheduled to face each other, but were paired after their opponents pulled out. That left a 10-round, non-title contest that was no more than a tune-up for Laval, Que.'s Pascal, who is slated to face  world champion Sergey Kovalev in March.

It ended in confusion, as Pascal hit Bolonti with a short right as they were coming out of a clinch along the ropes in the second round and the Argentine dropped to the canvas. He stayed there for several minutes, taking oxygen from ring medical staff before he was taken out on a stretcher to hospital.

Referee Michael Griffin ruled it a no contest due to an unintentional foul at 2:29 of the second, so the records of Pascal (29-2-1) and Bolonti (35-3) remain unchanged.

And it should not stop Pascal's showdown with Kovalev on March 14, to be held in either Montreal or Quebec City.

"It's an unfortunate incident," said Pascal, the former WBC champion. "It's too bad because I wanted to put on a good show.

"I was doing well the first two rounds. It happened really fast, but he hit me once behind the head and again on the ear and I didn't hear the ref say break. I saw an opening and I hit him. If he's really hurt, I wish him a full recovery."

The crowd booed, but it was difficult to determine if there wasn't some play-acting on both sides.

Bolonti looked to have a slight advantage in an uneventful first round, but Pascal dropped the Argentine with a left jab early in the second and went on the attack.

Then the two clinched in the middle of the ring. Bolonti swung twice at Pascal as they moved together to the ropes. They were just coming out of the clinch when Pascal hit him on the side of the head.

A first, it appeared Pascal would lose by disqualification, which may have compromised the Kovalev bout. So having it ruled a no contest came as a relief.

Roy Jones Jr thought that Bolonti was a really bad actor.

"When you hit him for real and he really goes down, there's a difference," said Jones, the former middleweight king. "When Jean hit him with the jab, he got up right away because he was embarrassed that he got knocked down from a jab.

"When he started faking, there was no chance he was coming back. This punch wasn't as hard as the jab, but there was no chance he was getting up. It's disgusting."

"He punched me on the ear so I punched back," said Pascal. "I didn't know the ref said break. That was an unintentional punch. I don't know what to say. I'm not a dirty fighter. I've never done that in my life."

Jean Bedard, president of Promoter InterBox, was relieved that Pascal didn't lose and came out of the bout without an injury.

Michel Hamelin, head of Quebec's boxing commission, said it was ruled a no contest because both fighters threw punches during the clinch.

"It was the referee's decision, not the commission's. The referee acted properly," he said.

Bolonti was conscious when he was taken from the ring.

"He seemed to be recovering but we didn't want to take any chances so he went to hospital," Hamelin said.

Pascal won the WBC title with a win over Adrian Diaconu in 2009 and defended it four times before losing a 12-round decision to Bernard Hopkins in 2011. Hopkins lost the WBC belt soon after, but had the IBF and WBA belts when he lost to Kovalev last month in Atlantic City.

The WBC title is now held by another Montreal fighter, Adonis Stevenson, who will defend it Dec. 19 in Quebec City against Russian Dmitry Sukhotsky.

Bolonti was originally set to fight former IBF super-middleweight champion Lucian Bute, but the Romanian-Canadian pulled out two weeks ago with a back injury suffered in sparring.

Pascal was supposed to face Don (Da Bomb) George, but the American was dropped when promoter InterBox arranged for Pascal to fight Bolonti.

David Lemieux threw his hat into the ring for a possible showdown with any of the middleweight title holders after blasting Gabriel Rosado for ten rounds last night at  Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

HBO would certainly look to headline Lemieux against Gennady Golovkin in a battle two of the most powerful punchers in the division.

Lemieux (33-2, 31 KOs), 25, of Montreal, took Rosado's best and blasted away with left hooks at will against Rosado. The tough Philadephian had the fight stopped the New York State Athletic Commission chief medical officer Dr. Barry Jordan stepped onto the ring apron to order it stopped because of Rosado's severely swollen eye.

"Hats off to Rosado. He is one hell of a fighter," Lemieux said. "I had tremendous preparation. I wanted to show all of you what I could do. I wanted to make a statement. Rosado is even better than I thought. I hope you enjoyed it."

The fight was an exciting one with Lemieux landing hammering hooks and overhand rights but Rosado staging mini-comebacks throughout that pleased the over 6,000 people in attendance.

"He's a good fighter, man. It was difficult seeing when my eye puffed up," Rosado said. "I saw three of him the whole fight. I was trying to fight and counter as best as I could with one eye. Just my luck."

Rosado has fallen victim to cuts over his eyes in losses to Golovkin and Peter Quillin in challenges for the title. This time, however, it was swelling that did him in.

.

"I felt like I was doing good when I could box," Rosado said. "I had a good game plan. I wanted to make him miss and counter but I was a little handicapped with the eye. I give him credit. He's a good fighter."

Lemieux, on the other hand, arguably looked better against Rosado then both Quillin and Golovkin. This is his eight victory since his title aspirations were derailed three years ago with losses to Marco Antonio Rubio and Joachim Alcine.

Lemieux has defensive liabilities but his stamina and endurance issues did not manifest themselves against Rosado. It appears that he has rectified those weaknesses.

"I know what Rosado wanted to do," Lemieux said. "He wanted to take me into deep waters. As I said before the fight, I was prepared to go 12 rounds and to be explosive the whole fight."

"I want to be world champion," Lemieux said. "I am ready for whomever is at 160 -- Golovkin, (champion Miguel) Cotto, (former titlist) Quillin. I want to fight the best."
